There’s something special about Memorial Day Weekend at Butterfly, and this year was no exception! Rain or shine, our campers came ready for fun, crazy rain dances, singing our hearts out like we were on a world tour, and together we made memories that will last all season long.
The weekend began with morning crafts, where our youngest campers showed off their creativity and had a blast making projects with friends. Of course, no Saturday is complete without a sweet treat, and our Super Saturday Ice Cream Social had everyone smiling as they enjoyed their favorite flavors.
As temperatures warmed up, campers eagerly headed to the pool, racing to be among the first to take a dip. While a few rain showers rolled through, they only added to the excitement, giving us a fun sneak peek of the splashes and laughs that await during our upcoming Wet & Wild Weekend (August 1st).
For those looking for a more relaxing way to spend the day, families gathered around our back pond with fishing rods in hand. The fishing was fantastic all weekend, with several campers reeling in impressive catches—including bass weighing up to 5 pounds! It was great seeing families spending quality time together by the water, sharing stories and celebrating each big catch.
Saturday evening brought everyone together in the pavilion for a lively game of B.I.N.G.O. The competition was fierce, the excitement was contagious, and plenty of lucky winners went home with prizes and bragging rights.
Sunday kept the fun going with one of our favorite campground traditions—karaoke! Campers of all ages took the microphone, sang their hearts out, and cheered one another on. The laughter and applause could be heard throughout the campground.
No Memorial Day Weekend would be complete without our famous Root Beer Floats. Friends and families gathered together to enjoy this classic campground treat while catching up and sharing stories. The day continued with dinner among friends, where campers came together to enjoy great food, great company, and the welcoming community that makes Butterfly Camping Resort feel like home.
As we reflect on the weekend, we are grateful for every camper who joined us. Memorial Day Weekend is more than just the unofficial start of summer—it's a time to connect, relax, and create memories with the people who matter most. From crafts and ice cream to fishing, karaoke, and Root Beer Floats, the weekend was filled with smiles, laughter, and unforgettable moments.
